Welcome to my cupboard, Canon EF70-300mm f/4.0-5.6L IS USM !!!

Goody !!!! My cupboard got a new comer from Canon today. Introducing, the newbies from Canon, EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6L IS USM. This new guy supposes to replace it's older brother, the EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6DO IS USM. Unlike his older brother who was made to be a "low profile, yet all powerfull in term of range lens", this new guy prefer to shine out in the public (it won't be good for my future paparazi shot...).

So, I arrange the three lenses (you can see the picture below) for you, so for those who haven't seen this lens yet, at least, you could picturize the size of it when you put it side by side with the older version of Canon EF70-300mm f/4.5-5.6DO IS USM and the all mighty Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8LII IS USM

note : picture above was taken with Canon EOS 5D mark II + Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM. Please be aware that I add the "vignette" on this picture in purpose, it's not that the EF 50mm f/1.2 is having problem (I had a guy who thought my serie L lenses all having problem with the "vignette, guess he doesn't have a "retro" sense in editing hahahahaha)

Long story short. Why Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6L IS USM is a "BUY" ?
- Of course it's all about better maximum aperture. When you put the lens for the range 70mm to 100mm, you can have your aperture at f/4.0 instead of f/4.5 with the older version.
- Minimal range of shot with this new guy is 1.20 meters (about 4 feet) compare to the older version's 1.4 meters ( about 4.5 feet).
- The new EF 70-300mm is become a member of the "L Family", so it's been made with better protection against the humidity (and other extreme weather condition).

So...if you are looking for a christmas present for someone who love photography or maybe for yourself....you still have about 2 weeks left....and you may want to consider this new comer.

Have fun,

Novita

Words for my dentist.....(just for fun, please don't take it seriously)

I went to my dentist this morning, nothing serious, just a regular control. This is the least expected day of the year for me. I scare to death to a dentist, and I believe I haven't mention that my sister is a dentist ;) on her graduation day, I've told her..."you can forget that I will be visiting you oneday." LOL

Project DigiScrap.

It's holiday season...so, I am in the mood to make something very special - DigiScrap (digital Scrapbook). Why now ? Well, actually I am in my mission to make a personalized travel diary for myself...so in between, I will try to make out something that has the holiday theme on it just to merry this holiday season.

I think this digiscrap project will continue later on, but of course with different theme depends on the time I made it (seasons, other holidays, special events, etc) and of course my mood....LOL

If you would like to make one for yourself, this is one of the best site I would recommended , Shabby Princess (http://www.shabbyprincess.com/ ) , but let me say this....SCRAPBOOKING is very addicted ;)

Have a great one,

Reason why I love Fisheye lens...

The reason why I like the Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye lens are :

1. It's compact and light weight.
With the weight of 330 grams, this lens is easy to carry around, even in your jacket's pocket, and doesn't  need any muscle works ;).

2. Don't bother to be discreet when you take your picture.
Since this lense capture angle of view of 180° horizontal degree, all you need to do just put it on a direction and do the click - click.

3. You can do upclose personal anywhere without people actually realize what are you doing :P

4. You still can shoot a very cute picture without has to deform your main subject ;)

That's all folks !!!! I hope you will love your Fisheye lens too after you read this post

Just want to say hi....

Dear readers,

I am back again to the European soil ;) I was spending a short week in Seoul , South Korea last week and....I figured out that Lomography really had a firm-ground over there , also the mini polaroid. Everywhere I go, I see more people taking pictures with their mini polaroid and lomography camera than the big D-SLR...which is a good sign, that means, people over there is a real artist by birth......cause with Lomography...everyone is an artist.

Catch you back later with more of my pictures.
